You've got more intelligent talent and skills than you know what to do with.

All you need is someone to help you step by step to reach your goals, fill your soul and share your talents to the world.

Let's do it together.

| Being an architect is probably the craziest decision you ever made.

I mean you didn't really sleep for 5 years.

But you still stuck with it and won't trade it for anything else.

You love it so much, but are scared of getting into the "real world architecture".

You have the talent and skills to design a skyscraper, but when it comes to finding a job, you don't know where to start.

You can handle the most complicated 3D modeling program, but you just can't seem to advance in your career.

Well, I've got you here.

I educate young architects (just like you) to craft a creative career that fuels your soul, reach your goals and share your talents to the world. I strive to make your life easier and give you real actionable strategies that I’ve used to build my career step by step from working in a small local firm to achieving my dream in joining a world renowned architectural firm.

Whenever I learn something new along my journey, I jump to share with you on my blog and in our private community to help you because:

  • You should wake up with the confidence to do what you love to do everyday, after all that hard work.
  • You are a new generation of talented and skillful designers and should be 100% sort after from firms around the world.
  • You didn’t go to architectural school just because you liked playing legos - you have the ability to change the world .

We're here to...

1. Own your passion

For a very long time, I was scared of telling people I love this life. You mean staying up all nights to build a model? Working on my final presentation in my very own birthday party where everyone else was celebrating for me? Taking a job 1/2 the salary of my programmer friends and working 2x as long? Yes I still love it. And I know you do too. So OWN it - it's okay to have a passion you're willing to work so hard for.

2. inspire and Motivate

Sometimes you just need a kick in the booty to get you through that ARE exam. I get it - it's hard to stay motivated with life in the way. That's why I'm here with you. I strive to motivate young architects and designers from all over the world to go after their dreams because your dreams are worth achieving.

3. grow a community

Architecture is a long life learning process and guess what makes it a lot easier to get through? A community - where you can meet other like-minded architects and designers to support each other. I want to build a community that defy the convention of "ego" in this industry and celebrate people who're willing to give, welcome and help each other out.

If this sounds like you, come join our private Facebook community - I'd love to meet you there.

4. simplify your life

Between being creative, knowing the latest software, and being poor, you've had your hands full. So let me help you a bit. I can't teach you everything about architecture and design (because I simply don't know everything). But I can show you a more organized step by step strategy to grow your career. It'll save you time, energy and money. You'll be equipped with all the right tools and resources to get where you want to be much quicker and smoother. It won't be easy, but we already know that, right?

5. find you a job

This is literally one of my biggest goals. But not just a job because anyone can find a job. I want to help you find a job that you truly enjoy doing every single day. Be it in a small firm, becoming a graphic designer, branching out into education or even starting your own practice. Together we'll figure out what you actually want in your dream job, how to get there and how to succeed in it.

Hi! I'm Joann Lui and I love helping young architects to be successful at their creative career.

Tired of being told "this is too hard for you", I chose to work hard to follow my dream. My first semester in architectural school, I lost 20 lbs and ran home crying to my mom because it was just so hard. She told me to give up and find something easier to do.

But I didn't give up. I worked days and nights through it - just like you did. I graduated with the highest honor and took a lot of trial and errors to get my first job in the recession. But the lack of creativity in the real world led me to wanting something much greater.

I was bored, unsatisfied but most importantly not creatively challenged. And I strive to challenge myself.

I started this blog as a simple creative outlet at the time. But it slowly grew to become my new obsession. My creative and "never give up" spirit drives this blog to give you everything that I've learned in my journey to get myself the dream job that make me feel challenged and rewarded.

If you want to catch up with me, you'll need to find me in the city (often rushing to get somewhere). Otherwise, I'm happily sipping hot freshly brewed tea, making up some new graphics or thinking about the next home organizing project.
